  • Matt and Lisa married on August 20, 2005 at Langhorne Presbyterian Church. Our commitment to each other was celebrated with family and friends.  After our wedding, we visited Caesar's Place Resort in the Poconos for our honeymoon. We played put put golf, tennis, swam, hiked, and tried archery, among other things.

  • For our second anniversary, we went camping Wolf Creek State Park. We had the tent ground completely to ourselves, seeing no other people except the ranger. Lisa was already eight months pregnant. We hiked a trail named "Unusual Tree Trail" and saw the unusual tree. Was it unusual? Yes, it was.

  • Although we forgot the camera, we traveled down to Mammoth Cave National Park for our third anniversary. Using our new inflatable raft we paddled down the river with Naomi. When we found the perfect spot stopped and set up camp. We paddled everything in and out -out was definitely harder as it was against the current, but it was well worth it.  Another highlight of the trip was the expedition into Mammoth Caves.  Down deep underground, the tour turned off the lights.  Naomi didn't care for the utter darkness very much.

  • We planned to spend 5 days in the Shawnee State Forest. However our first campground turned out to be filled with party people. Then next day we stumbled upon the recreation of Fort Massac and greatly enjoyed exploring it. That night we stayed at a different campground which was much more secluded. Rock faces jutted up around us and easy hiking trails were plentiful. However, on our third day we were attacked by chiggers and decided to call it quits. Boy, oh boy, you've never known itchy until you've been bitten by chiggers.

  • Due to cold, wet weather, we decided not to go camping. Instead, we had a quiet evening together. We ate fondue, drank Champaign, lit our unity candles, and spoke our vows to each others.

  • Life with three kids and a more-than-full-time job as a herdsman made our anniversary trip short and sweet. We away for one night at a near by state park. The kids enjoyed hiking through the woods, cooking over a fire, and sleep in the tent. The trees around our campsite were very tall and the air was filled with mosquitoes. If we had stayed any longer, there might not have been anything left of us. The mosquitoes were ravenously hungry, especially for tender little Simeon.

  • We decided to see the sights of the mid-west and camp at the Ohio Falls. This historic location was the trail head for the Louis and Clark expedition. After the man-made falls were constructed, hundreds of fossils were exposed. We were actually able to walk among and explore the fossil-filled river bed. We also visited the museum, ate lunch at a local restaurant, and headed back home.

  • After we spent the preceding 3 months separated from Matt as he began working at US Steel, he was suddenly let go three days before our anniversary. Honestly, we didn't much celebrate this year, but we were together. Matt came home. He started job hunting, trusting God would direct our steps.
